Kiddo not talking yet?  Joy provides services from birth to 5 years old for children with speech developmental delays or  disabilities.  Intervention may focus on play skills, attention, and speech/language skills. 

Early Intervention

Expressive and Receptive Language

Expressive language therapy targets how to produce and use language such as expressing our wants and needs along with answering "wh" questions, using appropriate grammar, etc. 

Receptive language therapy targets abilities to understand language such as understanding "wh" questions, categories, nouns, verbs, etc. 

Autism and Social Skills

Therapy targets expressive/receptive language skills using spoken or alternative modes of communication (AAC). Social skills are also targeted to aid with building meaningful relationships with family, peers, and community members.  

Articulation

Therapy focuses on articulation and phonological disorders. Specifically targeting how to say sounds correctly and demonstrating high intelligibility when speaking with communication partners. 

Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC)

Therapy is focused on building functional and meaningful communication skills using different modes of communication, such as speech generating devices.

Literacy

Providing services for  phonological awareness skills and reading comprehension.

Gestalt Language Processing

Does your child often repeat back exactly what you say? Or, do they say phrases from their favorite TV shows or songs to communicate?  This is know as Gestalt Language Processing or some may call it  scripting or echolalia. Therapy for Gestalt Processors , focuses on supporting these individuals who learn language in chunks or "gestalts" rather than single words.
